Tips to draw a landscape

 Tips to draw a landscape

landscape sketching is one of my favorite art work  and they are the most challenging  to draw . All you need is to sit on a beautiful place and as an admirer of nature start your sketch . But you don't always need to sit on a beautiful place for your work .  An artist also  work on his imagination which yeilds beautiful results .

So first thing you have to do is planning . plan your work . planning begins in your mind and it results in to your artwork . preplaned work gives you bests art piece .

Actually I have seen many landscapes painting  which gives the impact of bad composition . By preplanning you can avoid that kind of work .  I always start my planning by my sketchbook . the size of the page made me think hoe to utilize it beautifully

lets get started with sketching

Obviously , all you need is your pencils and your sketchbook  to begin .

Materials  I used

Here I am  giving the list of materials I use to do sketching

  •  Sketchbook  I usually prefer A3 size .you can use other as well .
  • Sketch pencils of different sizes.
  • Charcoal pencils
  • Blending stumps
  • Sand paper
  •  Eraser
  •  Ruler

These are the basics things you need .

we usually draw the landscapes of the views  which we have visited during different trips .we try to perceive the logic of the landscape theme , its structure  and the connection of each element . so we try grasp by that scene .

To tackle our challenge we would start by the following steps .

Abstraction

Abstraction is the most powerful weapon to draw an eye catching  landscape . we can also apply the visual art technique . but it would be little bit complex for a beginner.   By abstraction we need to decide which element of the landscape we should draw and which one we need to exit. So all it depends on what we want to draw .
abstraction elements are unique to draw and are understandable  . Elements like trees  of pine or any other category , snowy mountains and  river are archepytal .
For example if we draw two lines like the shape of triangle , so the viewer  can understand its the shape of mountain . so abstract elements are easy to recognize .

Surface

Every landscape have some sort of surfaces .  It might be the grassy surface ,snowy  reads , meadows  and some kind of fields . Consider their volume to draw them  I hope you will delve in your work .

Texture  on surfaces

Now move forward to the next step .  If you want to draw some textures on the surfaces. For instance if you want to put grasses over any surface  you need to use 4B pencil. Draw some lines from the surface to outward  .overlap some of the lines and skip some of them .
You can also put some moving wind texture by placing small lines in each direction .
I  Hope these techniques will help you a lot .
